Youth Support Worker, Primary School based

Overview

Aspire People are supporting a large primary school in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. The school seeks a Youth Support Worker / SEND Teaching Assistant to work with identified pupils across Key Stage 2, with a focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role is full-time, term-time only, 08:20 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the full academic year.

• Deliver 1:1 interventions to support pupil engagement with core subjects.
• Support pupils with SEMH and other complex needs across Key Stage 2, including behaviours that may present CHALLENGES.
• Work on a timetable basis within the school and contribute to the wider pastoral and learning support for identified pupils.

• Experience in youth work, sports coaching, or a degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Youth Studies.
• Confident working with pupils who have SEMH needs; resilient, motivated, and committed to understanding the broader context of pupils’ needs.
• Willingness to engage in school-provided training on specific interventions.

• Competitive pay rates (£90 to £110 per day, depending on experience).
