Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School | Full-Time
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience before pursuing Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Teaching? Aspire People are recruiting motivated Psychology graduates to work as Teaching Assistants within supportive primary schools across Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD and additional learning needs, while working alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils requiring additional help.
- Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
- Help pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and independence.
- Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of teachers and SENDCOs.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Support positive behaviour using calm, consistent strategies.
- A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject).
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy and resilience.
- Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
- Long-term school placements.
- Excellent experience for aspiring psychologists and therapists.
- Ongoing support and CPD opportunities.
