Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH Alternative Provision in Stockport, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The setting provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment where staff are committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning while promoting confidence, resilience and positive outcomes.

The school is looking to appoint a SEMH Teacher of English on a long-term basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right SEMH Teacher of English. The successful SEMH Teacher of English will teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons while confidently managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The successful SEMH Teacher of English will have:

• QTS with an English specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)

• Experience teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

• Experience working with students with SEMH or challenging behaviour

• Excellent behaviour management and relationship building skills

• A resilient, patient and positive approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
