ICT Teacher

Smile Education is recruiting a qualified ICT Teacher to join a supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school in Manchester from 1

September
2026. The position is particularly suitable for an ECT or teacher early in their career, and the department will provide mentoring from the Head of Department and wider trust leadership.

As an ICT Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ digital knowledge, practical skills and confidence with technology. You will maintain clear expectations for behaviour, create an inclusive classroom environment and adapt teaching to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.

• Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons.
• Maintain strong classroom management and clear expectations.
• Use digital resources and varied teaching strategies to support learning.
• Adapt lessons for students of differing abilities, including SEND.
• Assess and monitor student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback and appropriate intervention.
• Build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Work closely with the Head of Department to develop curriculum knowledge.
• Contribute to departmental planning, meetings and wider school activities.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school expectations.

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have a relevant degree or academic background in ICT, Computer Science or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge is desirable; mentoring will be provided for less experienced teachers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective classroom management.
• Be able to engage students, lead lessons confidently and make the subject enjoyable and accessible.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
• Have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

£170–£235 per day, dependent on experience and pay scale.

Long‑term role starting on 1

September
2026.

Full‑time position, with part‑time applications (approximately 0.6) considered.

Mentoring from the Head of Department and wider trust leadership.

Support with KS4 curriculum preparation and professional development.

Dedicated support from an experienced education consultant.
