Behaviour Support Assistant - Salford
Teaching Personnel are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Salford, supporting pupils aged 11-16 with additional needs. This is a full time (term time only) position to start in September.
The school supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside conditions such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, anxiety, attachment difficulties, and behavioural challenges. The role involves helping pupils manage their behaviour, engage in learning, and develop positive relationships.
Responsibilities- Support pupils in the classroom and around the school.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
- Build positive relationships and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
- Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable.
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
