Are you graduating this year and looking to begin a rewarding career in education? Aspire People is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join secondary schools across Manchester as Graduate Tutors for the new academic year starting in September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a strong academic background in Maths, English or Science who are passionate about helping young people succeed.
The RoleAs a Graduate Tutor, you will work within secondary schools providing targeted one-to-one and small group intervention sessions to students who require additional academic support. You will help pupils improve their understanding of key subjects, develop confidence, and overcome barriers to learning. Many of the students you support may have additional needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or have experienced periods of absence from school.
Your ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent encouragement will play a vital role in helping them achieve their potential.
- Deliver engaging 1:1 and small group intervention sessions in Maths, English and/or Science.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
- Support students in improving academic attainment and confidence.
- Build positive, professional relationships that encourage engagement with learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN departments.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback where required.
- Maintain a reliable and consistent presence within school.
- A UK Bachelor's degree
- A strong academic background in Maths, English or Science.
- Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching or education experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
- Reliability, professionalism and commitment.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- References covering the last two years.
- Right to work in the UK.
