Position: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Health Workforce (Teaching & Research)

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to to be part of the Behavioural Science for International Health Workforce Group in the Division of Medical Education. We are seeking somebody with a PhD in a relevant subject to health workforce research, e.g., health psychology, implementation science, behavioural research, health professional education, social sciences. The postholder would become a core member of the group, carrying out their own programme of health workforce research related to division, school and faculty priorities.

The successful candidate will also contribute to MBChB, PGT and CPD programmes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing an overarching and collaborative research programme with component objectives, projects and proposals to grow independent and internationally recognised research in the broad area of health workforce research, aligned with existing research interests in the Division/Faculty; seeking external funding and ensuring dissemination of high quality outputs.
  • Designing and delivering teaching material covering a range of general and specific subject areas (e.g. ranging from 1st year undergraduate to specialised postgraduate material), supervise students and contribute to assessment.
  • Undertaking support and leadership roles as appropriate for level of appointment

Essential Criteria include:

  • Hold a PhD in a relevant subject to health workforce research and behavioural science e.g., health psychology, implementation science, behavioural sciences, health professional education, social sciences
  • Extensive and up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in your subject area
  • A trajectory that places you or will place you in a competitive position to win external funding and publish high impact outputs

Desirable Criteria include:

  • A successful track record of applying for external research funding
  • Have a proven track record of presentation at external conferences/workshops
  • Experience of international implementation or research projects.
  • Experience of teaching in a professional or clinical environment
  • Successful mentorship of students/colleagues to produce high quality health workforce research
