If you are considering a PGCE or QTS
, working as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant is an excellent way to gain classroom experience, develop behaviour management skills, and build confidence before teacher training.
To register, applicants must:
- Hold a relevant UK qualification or a verified overseas equivalent
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Be committed to safeguarding children and young people
- Successfully complete all safer recruitment and compliance checks
If you have lived outside the UK in the last five years, you will usually need an Overseas Police Clearance Certificate
.
If your qualifications were gained overseas, you may also need:
- A UK ENIC Statement of Comparability
- Certified English translations of documents (if applicable)
