SEMH Maths Teacher - PRU | Salford | Full Time | September 2026 Start
Teaching Personnel is seeking an inspiring and resilient SEMH Maths Teacher to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Salford on a full-time basis from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, low self-confidence, and behavioural challenges that can impact their engagement in education.
As a key member of the teaching team, you will deliver engaging Maths lessons that reignite a love of learning, helping pupils build confidence, develop positive attitudes towards education, and achieve meaningful academic progress.
The Role- Deliver creative and differentiated Maths lessons to pupils with diverse learning and emotional needs.
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and personal growth.
- Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has previous experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Is compassionate, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
