Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)

Teaching Assistant (SEND)Salford Graduates is recruiting passionate, empathetic, and motivated graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in SEND schools and specialist provisions across Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or wider education and care.
The RoleAs a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate to Complex Learning Difficulties
- Physical and sensory needs
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Helping to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities
- Promoting confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Assisting with classroom preparation and daily routines

Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults is beneficial but not essential. We value transferable skills gained through volunteering, coaching, mentoring, youth work, care, customer service, or other people-focused roles.
