Teaching Personnel Liverpool are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to support the new cohort of Year 7 students joining our partnership secondary schools in September 2026
.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact during a key transitional stage in students’ academic journeys.
The RoleAs a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students as they adapt to secondary school life. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support for students who require additional guidance
- Delivering small group interventions to support learning and engagement
- Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Supporting students with a range of needs, including academic, social, and emotional development
- Helping to manage behaviour and encourage positive learning attitudes
We are seeking candidates who:
- Have experience working with young people (education, youth work, coaching, or similar)
- Are patient, adaptable, and confident in supporting students with varying needs
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Are committed to supporting students’ progress and wellbeing
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
- Full-time: Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 6.5-hour school day
- Daily rate: £95 – £105 (dependent on experience)
- Opportunities for temporary to permanent placements for the right candidates

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
