Teaching Personnel
Do you have experience supporting young people and managing challenging behaviour? Teaching Personnel is recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work in primary and secondary SEMH schools across Trafford.
You'll support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including ADHD, anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and behaviours that impact learning. The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage their behaviour, emotions, and engagement with learning.
No two days are the same, and your ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent will make a real difference to students' lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Encouraging engagement in lessons and school activities.
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour.
- Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and interventions.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams.
- Promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people is essential.
- Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude.
- The ability to build rapport and act as a positive role model.
- A genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.
