We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Sale to join a welcoming secondary school on a long-term or temp-to-perm basis. This SEN Teaching Assistant job in Sale is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, aspiring teachers, psychology graduates, youth workers, or support workers who are passionate about helping young people with additional needs thrive in education.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, responding to their individual learning needs

  • Working with students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and other additional needs

  • Helping deliver intervention and catch-up sessions to close learning gaps

  • Working alongside the class teacher to adapt learning resources and provide classroom support

  • Promoting an accepting and inclusive classroom where every student feels safe, supported, and able to achieve

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement throughout the school day

Requirements or Skills
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting is desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism or additional learning needs is advantageous

  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education, Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working collaboratively as part of the wider SEND team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
