- SEMH & Special Educational Needs (SEN) Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding permanent opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys building positive relationships and delivering engaging Science lessons to small class sizes, allowing you to make a genuine difference to every learner.
Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH and SEN.
Differentiate learning to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.
Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
Support pupils' academic, emotional and social development.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider school team.
Monitor progress and adapt teaching to help every pupil achieve their potential.
RequirementsQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Science in UK schools.
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or additional learning needs is desirable.
Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one before starting).
