Position: Lecturer (Library and Information Studies)

The School of English at Manchester Metropolitan University is a vibrant, inclusive, and research-active community with a strong reputation for its impact on culture, creativity, and communication. Based on our Oxford Road campus, we bring together leading academics, practitioners, writers, researchers, and creative professionals across literature, creative writing, linguistics, media, journalism, performance, publishing, and library and information studies.

Our outstanding facilities include purpose-built TV and radio studios, a language resource centre, a 180-seat theatre, and the Manchester Poetry Library—the North West's first public poetry library. Located in Manchester, a UNESCO City of Literature, the School is at the heart of a thriving cultural and creative ecosystem, with extensive opportunities for collaboration with libraries, archives, publishers, cultural organisations, and industry partners.

The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Library and Information Studies to contribute to the MA Library and Information Management programme. Recognised and approved by CILIP, the programme prepares students for careers across the library, information, knowledge, and cultural sectors.

The successful candidate will contribute through module leadership, teaching delivery, assessment, curriculum development, and student support, bringing relevant academic, professional, or research expertise to an engaging and student-centred learning environment. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the School's wider research and scholarly community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-looking School and to help shape the next generation of library and information professionals.
