Luma Education Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly regarded therapeutic SEN school in Manchester to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist education setting that supports children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), ADHD, communication difficulties, and associated learning needs.

The school takes a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to education, placing relationships, wellbeing, and individual progress at the heart of everything they do.

The Role As an SEN Teacher, you will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support pupils with EHCPs and personalised learning programmes
  • Work closely with therapists, support staff, and families to achieve positive outcomes
  • Use therapeutic and trauma-informed strategies to promote engagement and emotional regulation
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to annual reviews and educational planning
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, Autism, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A child-centred and adaptable teaching approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
