Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant | Full-Time | September Start | Urmston

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Urmston to recruit a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in September.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with additional needs on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. The Role

As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Support the implementation of individual learning targets and strategies
  • Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and social development
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Be patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • Hold a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification or be willing to complete training
