Aspire People are seeking passionate Child Psychology Graduates to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across a range of schools in Manchester.
This role would suit someone who is particularly interested in child development, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis
Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
Supporting behaviour plans and individual support strategies
Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils
Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCOs
Recording observations and feeding back on pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate:
A degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or a related subject
A strong interest in SEMH, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
Experience working with children or young people is desirable
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
Confident communication and strong interpersonal skills
The ability to remain composed when supporting challenging behaviour
A genuine commitment to helping pupils reach their potential
