SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND and social, emotional, and mental health needs across a range of primary and secondary schools.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The Role May Include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support
Supporting pupils with SEND, ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
Working with pupils who have SEMH and behavioural needs
Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
Supporting classroom learning and differentiated activities
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
A calm, patient, and consistent approach
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
Able to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
A genuine passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
