Aspire People are currently recruiting for a PE Coach / HLTA to join a primary school in Manchester (M9) from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PE Coach, Sports Coach or HLTA with a Level 3 qualification or above who is confident delivering PE across a primary school and wants to take ownership of the school's wider sporting provision.
The school has an established PE scheme in place, including supporting resources and videos, meaning you'll have a strong framework to work from while still having the opportunity to bring your own energy and ideas to the role.
The Role:- Planning, delivering and assessing PE lessons across the school
- Supporting active play and physical activity during break times
- Running extracurricular sports clubs
- Delivering after-school clubs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 4:00pm
- Supporting pupils at sporting fixtures
- Organising and contributing to Sports Day
- Managing PE equipment and resources
- Developing links with other schools and supporting sporting fixtures
- Promoting health, fitness and physical wellbeing
- Supporting nurture, mentoring and wider pupil interventions
- Providing occasional lesson cover when required
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
- Holds a Level 3 sports/coaching qualification or above
- Has at least 2 years' experience supporting children through sport or physical activity
- Has experience working with children who have experienced ACEs
- Has knowledge across a range of sports
- Is confident managing groups of primary-aged children
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, including those with behavioural, emotional or social needs
- Takes a nurturing and relationship-based approach to behaviour
- Is proactive, enthusiastic and able to work independently
- Works well as part of a wider school team
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, school experience and/or First Aid qualification would also be advantageous.
Working Pattern:- Monday - after-school sports club until 4:00pm
- Tuesday - after-school sports club until 4:00pm
- Wednesday - staff training until 4:30pm
- Thursday - after-school sports club until 4:00pm
- Friday - 2:00pm finish
There may be occasional flexibility required for fixtures and school events.
