SEND Teaching Assistant - Moston, Manchester
Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Long-Term Opportunity
Educate GM are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the heart of Moston, Manchester from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The Role:As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the school's SEN team to provide tailored support to pupils who require additional help with their learning, development and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to KS1 pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting children with a range of additional needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Implementing individual learning and support strategies
- Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to meet pupils' needs
- Supporting pupils with their emotional and social development
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
The school is looking for someone who is patient, caring, resilient and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable. Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties or complex learning needs would be advantageous.
You may be an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker or someone with relevant transferable experience. Teaching Assistant Level 3 Qualification is desirable.

For the role you must:- Have experience working with SEND children/ young people
- Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
- Be subject to an Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
- 2x Professional reference checks.
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
