The University is now seeking an exceptional academic leader to become its next Faculty Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor for Health and Education. This is a significant appointment at a pivotal moment in Manchester Met's development, offering the opportunity to lead one of the UK's leading health and education faculties while contributing to institutional leadership as a member of the University Executive Group.

The Faculty of Health and Education is a dynamic and distinctive academic community spanning Education, Nursing and Public Health, Psychology, Health Professions, and Social Care and Social Work. Educating the next generation of teachers, nurses, allied health professionals, psychologists, sport scientists and other professionals, the Faculty plays a vital role in improving lives and strengthening communities. Through close partnerships with the NHS, schools, local authorities, professional bodies and industry, it is helping address some of society's most pressing challenges.

The Faculty is in an exceptionally strong position, with consistently high National Student Survey results and a research profile that delivers real‑world impact across health, education, sport and psychology. Education was ranked among the top 10 nationally for research power in , reflecting the quality, scale and influence of its research, while a strong culture of interdisciplinary collaboration and external partnership underpins its continued success.

As Faculty Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor, you will provide visible and inclusive leadership, setting a clear direction and creating an environment in which colleagues and students can thrive. You will lead a vibrant academic community across an inspiring estate that combines state‑of‑the‑art facilities with buildings rich in heritage and character, while working closely with senior leaders across the University to implement strategy, strengthen reputation, performance and impact, and grow the Faculty's national and international profile.

To achieve this, we are seeking an experienced and inspirational academic leader with a strong international academic profile, a deep understanding of the higher education landscape, and a genuine commitment to people‑led leadership. You will bring strategic vision, operational excellence and energy, with the ability to lead complex academic communities, build meaningful partnerships and deliver excellent education and excellent research with impact.
