Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Mentor to join an outstanding specialist secondary provision in the Trafford area. This highly regarded school supports students aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex learning, communication, and developmental needs, creating an environment where young people are empowered to succeed both academically and personally.

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students with additional needs.
• Support pupils in accessing lessons across a broad and engaging curriculum.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and engagement.
• Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Support the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised intervention plans.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Assist students with communication, life skills, and preparation for adulthood.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
• Monitor progress and contribute to student reviews and target setting.
• Support students during break times, enrichment activities, educational visits, and vocational learning opportunities.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals.
• A genuine interest in SEND, SEMH, and inclusive education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
