Second in Science

We wish toappoint a dedicated, creative, inspiring and energetic professional to support the leadership of the Science faculty as Second in Department from 1 January
2027. The successful applicant will workwith the Faculty Leader to share expertise and improve student outcomes in Science.

Applicants will have the knowledge and skills to further develop, lead and implement strategies to help our students enjoy their learning, make progress and achieve.

This post wouldbe ideal for an outstanding practitioner, passionate and informed about thebest classroom practice in Science with ambition, drive and some leadership experience. Candidates will have aproven track record of delivering successful student outcomes, strong data analysis skills and be an outstanding communicator.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has relevant experience oft eaching science in a secondary school
• Is a good teacher who can establish good relationships with, motivate and inspire young people, and whoshows the potential and commitment to become and outstanding teacher
• Has good interpersonal skills,the ability to empathise with young people and build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Is a flexible and perceptive classroom practitioner who can engage students across the age and ability rangeand enable all to learn, enjoy and make progress
• Has a commitment to personal,professional development and becoming the best you can be.
