In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined below, the member of staff will be required, under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher, to carry out the professional duties of aSchool Teacher as set out in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD) and to have due regard for the Professional Standards for Teachers.

Specific Responsibilities1 Professional expectations
Organisation and planning of an ambitious curriculum to ensure it fulfils the demands of the National Curriculum,provides challenge, and promotes progress and high academic attainment.
Maintain clear expectations and high standards of professionalism at all times through implementing and upholding theschool’s policies.
Monitoring of and being accountable for student attainment and progress, in accordance with the school’s policies.
Being accountable to the Deputy/Assistant Headteacher for the standards of teaching, learning and assessment in your curriculum. Working collaboratively and sharing good practice within theschool, to continually raise standards and develop the ethos in all areas ofthe school, not just the academic provision.
To make contributions to and develop expertise through internal and external professional development.
Attend school events and activities as directed by the Headteacher.
Ensure equal opportunities for all students andstaff.
