Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation.

You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

Driving Licence – The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations

We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Surveyor to play a key role in delivering high‑quality technical assessments, driving the completion of disrepair works. You will be the technical lead on disrepair cases from instruction through to completion. You will conduct detailed property inspections, diagnose building defects, prepare clear schedules of work, and manage contractors to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.

You will work closely with our Disrepair Case Managers to jointly manage cases, agree priorities, and ensure effective communication with residents. As well as working alongside legal partners, repairs teams, and external contractors to ensure we meet all legal obligations and provide a responsive, resident‑focused service. Your expertise will help resolve complex cases, prevent repeat issues, and drive improvements across the housing stock.

    Extensive experience of working in partnership with and influencing senior Programme, Project and business stakeholders including the management of external suppliers and strategic partners.

    Ability to plans forecast and monitor expenditure against budget, investigates variances and takes timely action to address significant deviations.

Desirable requirements that would be useful in this role:

  • Knowledge of the Local Authority Social Housing and awareness of its regulations.
  • A demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, health & safety and other legislation relevant to asset management.
  • Knowledge of effective professional surveying service for major repairs, minor planned works and legal housing disrepair.
  • Understanding of data management and Intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint IT systems.
  • Management of small projects and an understanding of CDM.
  • An understanding of working with in-house direct labour organisations.
  • The post holder will have a construction related qualification or equivalent demonstratable experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the pre‑action protocol for disrepair.
