As a Major Component Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out and supporting all exchanges conducted within your area. By personally carrying out the exchange, this role will ensure a safe and effective execution of the exchanges as well as keeping to the standardised exchange times.
Key Responsibilities For This Role Include- Carrying out and supporting main component exchanges
- Delivering on-site training for technicians for main component exchanges
- Main Component exchange tools handling
- Creating and practically testing tooling sets
- Supervising and executing lifting operations
- Handling any unforeseen issues during main component exchanges
- Developing, improving and testing of exchange procedures
- Development, improvement and testing of special tools
- Ensuring safety and quality on site during main component exchanges
- Ensuring completeness of main component exchange reporting
- Creation of risk assessments and method statements for main component exchanges
- Gearbox and Main Bearing Endoscopies
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working on wind turbines and have practical on-site main component exchange experience. You will also have on-site handling and mobile cranes and hydraulic and electric torque tool handing experience.
You will preferably hold a qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline and have completed the Wind Turbine Technician course along with Slinger Banksman training. This role would suit someone with a can-do attitude and that is a team player.
You will display strong planning & organisational skills and have a strong customer focus. You will also be IT literate and have experience of Office 365 and SAP.
The ability to work at heights is a necessity for this role and you will be travelling on a regular basis which includes nights away from home.
