Instrument Technician

Overview

Department / Function Morecambe Hub Operations

• Undertake routine and non-routine engineering maintenance and defect/responsive breakdown repair tasks that ensure the reliability and scheduled availability of operational plant and equipment associated with gas production/processing and condensate storage facilities.
• Execute routine and non-routine maintenance activities efficiently to agreed processes/procedures and operational requirements.
• Investigate complex technical problems relating to critical plant, identify solutions and act to return plant to normal operating service with minimal supervision.
• Prepare and present technical reports and maintain appropriate records of activities within recognised systems.
• Inspect and maintain instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas.
• Carry out commissioning and de-commissioning activities to meet planned plant operating programmes, organising and planning own and vendor work scopes.
• Liaise with operational/production staff and Technicians in other disciplines to ensure a safe and effective approach to tasks within the overall operational and maintenance programme.
• Be trained to be competent in a range of activities ancillary to the core discipline.
• Supervise other staff and vendor/contractor employees in undertaking work activities.

Promotes a positive Incident Free Workplace culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards & procedures, including the Client’s CMAPP and HSES Policy.

Perform nominated emergency response role/duties and maintain the necessary competencies to perform these duties.

• A BTEC Higher National Certificate or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject.
• Experience of the maintenance of high-pressure process plant and equipment.
