Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Nordex UK and Ireland high voltage safety rules, including auditing and amending existing rules.
- Responsible for maintaining other high voltage control documentation.
- Training personnel on Nordex high voltage safety rules and the use of Nordex High voltage equipment such as switch gear and transformers.
- Creating and storing training records for personnel that attend training sessions.
- A member of the authorisation panel for Nordex High Voltage safety rules.
- Approving high voltage switching schedules submitted by Nordex SAPs.
- Auditing personal on site carrying out high voltage switching and maintenance work.
- Investigating safety rules breaches.
- Auditing third party's / customer's high voltage safety rules.
- Hosting when a customer audits the Nordex high voltage safety rules.
- Ability to offer high voltage technical advice.
- Commissioning and testing high voltage and low voltage equipment such as cables, transformers and switch gear.
- Maintaining high voltage and low voltage equipment.
- Operating and providing permits for high voltage switching / isolations.
- Electrical fault finding and investigation.
- Replacing high voltage components such as switch gear and transformers.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to Engineering Level (HND/HNC) or equivalent and has completed Electrical Commissioning training (off and on job).
You will have a strong understanding in HV electrical networks and HV and LV protection with the ability to programe and interogate protection relays. You will also be experienced at electrical fault finding and interrogation relays and have previous experience of being a SAP (Senior Authorised Person). You will be qualified for working at heights within the turbine towers and nacelle and hold a full driving licence.
This role requires someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will be required to investigate and write details reports. You must also be computer literate with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. The job will be primarily office based with regular travel throughout the UK and Ireland plus occasional visits to Europe. When away from home you should expect to be away for 3-4 days at a time, with occasional longer periods.
Work will primarily take place between Monday to Friday daytime working hours, any work in the evening or weekend will be on an overtime basis if required.
