We are recruiting for an award-winning company that are expanding their Manchester team and are looking for a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives on solving engineering challenges and delivering high-quality design solutions.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of projects from initial concept through to completion, working across a diverse portfolio and supporting the growth and development of their engineering team. Regular travel to site for surveys, inspections, client meetings, and technical reviews will be a key part of your work.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading mechanical design for building services across all RIBA stages
Carrying out site visits, condition surveys, inspections, and progress meetings
Preparing design calculations, technical specifications, and detailed reports
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Mentoring junior and intermediate engineers
Managing client relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery
Contributing to technical reviews, design standards, and continuous improvement
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industry best practice
About You

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
Chartered or working toward Chartership (IET/CIBSE) – highly desirable
Significant consultancy experience within building services
Strong understanding of HVAC, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable design
Confident conducting independent site visits, surveys, and client discussions
Excellent communicator with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Able to manage workloads effectively and deliver high-quality outputs to deadlines
