Sprinkler and Water Mist Project Manager

Protec Fire and Security Group is hiring the Sprinkler and Water Mist Project Manager role. This position involves managing mechanical sprinkler or water mist suppression systems from pre-order through final account and warranty.

Base pay range: £35,000 - £55,000 (dependent on experience).

Location:

Manchester/NW. Travel within the UK, and occasional visits to European suppliers, may be required. Protec covers travel and accommodation; training, further qualifications, and a bonus scheme are offered to the successful candidate.

• To expertly handle sprinkler or water mist installation contracts from initial enquiry through to final accounts.
• Assume full financial control of projects, delivering the works efficiently and profitably, including responsibility for raising purchase and subcontract orders.
• Effectively manage the installation work on site; attend regular client meetings; take responsibility for health and safety; produce progress updates and reports; and complete project quality assurance checks.
• Prepare and communicate detailed programmes of work to ensure deadlines and contract requirements are met.
• Liaise with suppliers, design teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and information flow, and accurately report to clients, contractors and governing bodies as necessary.
• Negotiate, monitor, and produce quotations for contract variations.
• Highlight potential problems early and obtain commercial advice where necessary.
• Prepare technical reports and submittals including operating and maintenance manuals and handover documents by collating and presenting relevant information.
• Identify and report deviations or nonconformities from scope, standards or contract.
• Ability to travel within the UK, and visit European suppliers as necessary for the role.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.

• GCSE in Maths and English
• Mechanical engineering qualification
• NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management
• CSCS Construction Skills Card
• Health and Safety Qualification, IOSH, SMSTS, etc.

• Experience of construction project engineering or management
• Experience with in sprinkler or water mist suppression project engineering or management
• Knowledge of current relevant suppression British Standards and Regulations, including LPC 12845, BS 8489, BS 9251, NFPA, FM Global
• Knowledge of sprinkler or water mist equipment and installation
