Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for a major highways project in Didcot, Oxfordshire, with a strong focus on cost control, value recovery, and commercial performance.
The role requires proven UK highways experience and strong knowledge of NEC contracts (preferably Option
C), including effective subcontractor management, client liaison, and commercial risk management.
- Budgeting, cost reporting, cash flow forecasting, and preparation of monthly applications, alongside procurement of subcontract packages and agreement of project allowances.
- Contract administration across main and subcontracts, including variations, compensation events, delay analysis, and loss and expense claims.
- Day‑to‑day management of commercial resources, resolution of subcontract issues, and representing the business in progress and commercial meetings, ensuring accurate use of company systems and reporting tools.
- Third level qualification (degree or similar)
- Demonstrate previous experience in a Commercial/QS role at a Senior level
- Experience of working across a variety of heavy Civils sectors such as Highways/Rail/Marine projects.
- Contract knowledge:
