TRO Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Traffic Engineer specializing in Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) to join a busy client in the Manchester area.

The main duties of the experienced Traffic Engineer are:

• Support the Traffic Management and Highways teams in delivering TRO schemes, amendments, and consultations.
• Lead the design, drafting, and implementation of TROs in line with local policies and statutory requirements.
• Liaise effectively with residents, councillors, and stakeholders to provide clear, technically accurate advice and responses regarding TROs.
• Manage public and statutory consultations, ensuring all feedback is considered and appropriately addressed.
• Assess feasibility of TRO proposals and recommend solutions to balance operational, legal, and community requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of TRO schemes, produce reports, and update management information systems.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through negotiation, communication, and technical expertise.
• Identify issues in assigned work, propose improvements, and drive process efficiencies.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, service level agreements, and local authority standards.
• Support personal development and continuous improvement within the traffic management function.
• Promote diversity and equality through fair treatment and example in all aspects of work.
