BIS Consult is a technology and consultancy firm focused on Smart Infrastructure; enabling digital transformation for project delivery and asset management teams through improved data management, process re‑engineering, systems integration and change management consultancy.

With a small and dynamic team, we have gained traction in the Public Sector – and within healthcare in particular – working with a number of NHS Trusts to improve outcomes for their Estates and Facilities teams.

We are leaders in the space of Indoors GIS – pushing the boundaries of this emerging technology.

Role Description

As ESRI Partners, we have a strong focus on location intelligence; combining effective data management with spatial visualisation tools to improve operational efficiency and create positive outcomes for building users. Our GIS solutions are predominantly focused on utilising the ArcGIS ecosystem and suite of tools.

As we continue to grow and have commercial success, BIS are now recruiting for someone who can help to support their growing client‑base with GIS project delivery, and to support internal GIS product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading GIS consultancy engagements with our clients.
  • Delivering ArcGIS projects and work streams from concept, through to design and implementation.
  • Technical accountability for implementing solutions, cartographic design, geospatial analysis and modelling, web mapping, indoor mapping, data collection, GIS product and solutions development.
  • Supporting internal initiatives to develop ArcGIS ‘off the shelf’ solutions and helping to bring these to market.
  • Keep up to date on emerging trends and technologies in GIS and cartography to enhance our capabilities and deliverables.
  • Support the continued growth of the business.
Knowledge and Experience

BIS are looking for a GIS professional with 8+ years' experience in GIS, with a strong knowledge of the ESRI stack.

Technical Knowledge and Experience
  • Proficiency in Esri stack including field data collection.
  • Geospatial analysis, modelling and web mapping.
  • Coding understanding and experience with Python and SQL.
  • GIS‑specific programming knowledge such as scripting for GIS, spatial data formats and API usage.
  • Understanding and experience of cartographic principles and map design techniques.
  • GIS product and solutions development.
  • Experience working with CAD drawings/ Revit models.
  • Strong design and graphical communication skills.
  • Indoor mapping / facilities mapping is beneficial.
Consultancy Experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering client engagements.
  • Project Management/ Project Lead experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience working in the Public Sector or other regulated industries is desirable.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
