Process Engineer - Diffusion

At Nexperia Manchester we are expanding our Semiconductor Diffusion Process Engineering Team. As a Process Engineer you will play a key role in sustaining daily production while driving long‑term improvement projects in varying areas of the fab. This is a great chance to work in a dynamic environment covering many processing technologies, offering a clear development path.

• Spend ~80% on reactive sustaining work and ~20% on proactive project delivery.
• Work on manufacturing processes covering furnacing, wafer cleaning, sputtering, passivation, evaporation and rapid thermal processing.
• Yield, Capability & Performance Improvement: sustain and improve mechanical and electrical yields, monitor and improve Cpk levels, coordinate R&R studies on metrology equipment, review, track and report process performance.
• Continuous Improvement & Development Projects: deliver technical improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, ease of manufacture and process capability.
• Support new product and platform development through process development activities.
• Documentation & Compliance: generate and maintain accurate wafer fab operator instructions and adhere to departmental procedures and quality standards.

• Semiconductor industry experience as a Process Engineer.
• HND or degree in a relevant STEM discipline (degree preferred).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams.
• Great priority management and ability to work in high‑pressure environments.
• Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work a rotating shift pattern of 12‑hour shifts (2 weeks of days and 1 week of nights).

• Experience in diffusion engineering processes.

• Starting salary £54,000‑£66,000 (DOE, inclusive of shift allowances).
