We are recruiting an experienced QA/QC Inspector to deliver site-based quality assurance and quality control activities on the Highview Power (HVP) Liquid Air Energy Storage project at Carrington.

The role suits a CSWIP-qualified inspector with proven large-project experience across sectors such as Power, Energy-from-Waste, Cryogenic, LNG, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, or Nuclear, capable of working across mechanical, piping, and structural disciplines from fabrication through to handover and commissioning.

The successful candidate will work closely with construction, engineering, subcontractors, the client, and third-party / NOBO inspectors to ensure full compliance with project specifications, codes, and the project Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain the project Quality Plan and ITP in line with project specifications, ASME B31.3, BS EN 13480, BS EN 1090, ASME IX, and PED requirements.
  • Carry out daily QA/QC site inspections across mechanical, piping, and structural steelwork installations.
  • Witness welding fit-ups, weld audits, and conduct visual weld inspections to CSWIP standards.
  • Coordinate, witness, and review NDT activities (UT, MPI, DPI, PMI, RT) and ensure NDT percentages are met.
  • Witness and sign off pressure testing, flange management, and bolt torquing.
  • Carry out line walks, raise and close out punch lists, and manage NCRs through to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Compile and review LTQR / Data Dossier documentation, including weld records, NDT reports, material certs, and ITP sign-offs.
  • Conduct subcontractor surveillance and audits to ensure compliance with workmanship standards.
  • Interface with the client, third-party inspectors, and NOBO for sign-offs and stage approvals.
  • Read and interpret isometrics, P&IDs, GAs, and welding procedures (WPS/PQR) to validate installation against design.
  • Use Field View / Asite or equivalent digital QA platforms to record and submit inspection records.
  • Attend daily completions meetings and support system handover to commissioning.
  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector (current).
  • Proven QA/QC Inspector experience on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.3, BS EN 13480, BS EN 1090, and ASME IX.
  • Demonstrable experience compiling LTQRs / Data Dossiers and managing handover documentation.
  • Experience coordinating and witnessing NDT (UT, MPI, DPI, PMI, RT) and reviewing reports.
  • Confident reading and interpreting isometrics, P&IDs, and GA drawings.
  • Experience interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and third-party / NOBO inspectors.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport; full understanding of CDM and site safety regulations.
  • Power, Cryogenic, LNG, or Energy-from-Waste sector experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • PCN Level 2 PT (Dye Penetrant Testing) or other NDT qualifications.
  • TUV Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) BS EN 1090 Exec Class 2 or above.
  • Coded welding background (TIG, MIG, MMA on carbon and stainless steel).
  • Experience with Field View / Asite or equivalent digital QA platforms.
  • Confined space training.
