CDM Principal Designer – Manchester / Liverpool

Salary: £30k - £50k (depending on experience)

You’re looking for an opportunity to work in a dynamic and passionate CDM team, where we deliver high quality CDM compliance to our clients. This role is for you if you have experience as a CDM Principal Designer/CDM Consultant and can manage CDM compliance on projects across residential, industrial and rail sectors.

• Build strong client and team relationships through clear, confident communication
• Own CDM compliance across multiple projects as the go‑to safety advisor
• Deliver Principal Designer duties, ensuring full statutory compliance end‑to‑end
• Carry out thorough site H&S inspections to maintain top safety standards
• Advise clients and designers on their CDM responsibilities with clarity and authority
• Support a wide stakeholder group, including developers, contractors, and designers
• Produce compliant RAMS and robust site safety documentation
• Manage project finances through accurate fee proposals and prompt invoicing
• Chair CDM hazard meetings, maintain trackers, and liaise closely with designers
• Develop bespoke H&S policies, procedures and templates (desirable)
• Apply working knowledge of ISO 45001 to provide added strategic value (desirable)

• NEBOSH Diploma, Degree in Health and Safety or Equivalents
• Association for Project Safety (APS), IOSH
• Understanding and application of CDM Regulations 2015
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations

• Competence in Fire Risk Assessments
• Building Regulations duties
• Understanding of or willingness to learn Building Regulations Schedule 1 requirements
• Experience in HRB projects
• Experience in the rail sector (desirable) or willingness to learn
