Principal Engineer

Hours:

40 hours per week – some flexibility available if desired.

• Leading the management of all works delivered through the Electrical team, managing all aspects of building services engineering, working together with the Major Projects Mechanical Lead to ensure coordinated solutions for all allocated works, which include all major projects new builds.
• Effectively managing team utilisation levels, identifying and implementing necessary steps in balancing team capabilities and resource levels with available workload.
• Setting, monitoring and maintaining standards for quality of product delivery, aligning all aspects of delivery to standard industry practices, preparation of designs and advice including feasibility, stage, and condition reports.
• Providing high level technical advice in electrical building services engineering.
• Participating in project design meetings, establishing solutions, agreeing concepts, working closely with colleagues and other design team members.

• Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE or IET, with a Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering plus significant knowledge of the road tunnel industry.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts into more readily understood information suitable for a wider business audience, experience in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design.
• Ability to pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements.
