Role Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure scheme in Manchester. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of works including new link roads, motorway widening, drainage, signage, technology upgrades, and complex traffic management.
The successful candidate will ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out setting out, surveying, and engineering control activities.
Ensure works are delivered safely and in line with project requirements.
Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and as-built information.
Ensure permits, RAMS, inspections, and QA documentation are in place and completed correctly.
Review drawings and raise technical queries where required.
Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, and suppliers to support project delivery.
Monitor progress against programme and support short-term planning.
Promote a Right First Time approach to quality and minimise rework.
Support the delivery of highways, drainage, signage, technology, and traffic management works.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
Strong understanding of setting out, quality assurance, and construction processes.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Proactive approach with a strong commitment to health, safety, and quality.
Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering.
SMSTS.
Valid CSCS Card.
