Job Description
The Stations team within WSP’s Rail division is actively seeking a BIM Leader to lead MEP delivery of our diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary station projects. The role involves managing requirements and risks, influencing stakeholders, and delivering successful design outcomes across all project stages.
Responsibilities- Use Bentley Micro Station and Open Buildings to model 3D MEP services, including cable management systems, pipework, ductwork and related components.
- Produce 2D sections from 3D models for incorporation into drawings and present design onto schematic and layout drawings.
- Carry out CAD modelling to appropriate level of detail throughout all development stages, from feasibility to detailed design and hand‑back, meeting relevant industry standards.
- Coordinate design with other disciplines to ensure a clash‑free design with correct access and maintenance provisions.
- Work with the project team to maximise data exchange across multiple software platforms, managed through a Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Support the engineering team by reviewing design data, mentoring and upskilling technical staff.
- Collaborate on projects from early concept through to detailed design.
- Deliver projects for Network Rail, HS2, Transport for the North, TfGM, Nexus, local authorities, principal contractors and private developers.
- HNC/HND (minimum) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in rail and civil engineering design projects.
- Experience with Bentley Micro Station, Open Buildings and Project Wise.
- Understanding of BIM and working within a Common Data Environment, preferably Bentley Project Wise.
- Experience managing offshore CAD and BIM resources.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with VBA or macro writing skills an advantage.
