The Bee Network is transforming how Greater Manchester moves. By bringing together different modes of transport into one connected system, it’s creating easier, more accessible journeys for the communities we serve.

What you’ll be doing
  • You’ll be the link between Northern, our industry partners, and delivery organisations, ensuring projects are developed and delivered successfully from concept through to completion. You’ll be:
  • Primary Stakeholder Conduit - Act as the principal point of contact and information exchange between TfGM, their contractors, and internal NTL teams (including IT, facilities, operations, and public relations).
  • Project Representation:
Attend all joint progress, coordination, and safety meetings to provide NTL operational support, technical insights, and guidance.
  • Access & Isolation Coordination:
Facilitate physical station access (inductions, keys, building user liaison) and coordinate requests to isolate or power down station systems. Identify collaborative solutions to deconflict overlapping project schemes.
  • Safety & Risk Assurance:
Proactively identify project risks impacting NTL’s station operations obligations, and manage the internal safety validation process regarding Safety Case or Safety Method Statement variations.
  • Technical & Design Review:
Review third-party contractor documentation (RAMS, safety plans) and collate stakeholder feedback on Design Data to protect operational safety and minimise customer impact.
  • Regulatory Control Support:
Provide operational guidance to TfGM on regulatory matters, including Station Change, Network Change, Landlord Consent, and station lease variations.
  • Protecting and enhancing the customer experience throughout construction and once projects are completed.
About you

You can bring people together, challenge constructively, and keep complex projects moving forward. Whether you’ve built your experience in rail, construction, infrastructure, or another highly regulated environment, you’ll know how to balance technical detail with the bigger picture.

Strong project management skills, the confidence to influence senior stakeholders, and the ability to turn ideas into deliverable plans – that’s the combination you’ll bring to the team.

You’ll also have:

  • Interface experience on complex infrastructure projects, ideally supported by a relevant project management qualification or professional membership.
  • A good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within construction or infrastructure projects, including Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
  • Commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and the ability to make balanced decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across different organisations.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and other project-related systems.
  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent practical experience in construction, property, engineering, or a related discipline.
