Nuclear Senior Process Engineer

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking to grow our team of process engineers within the Nuclear EMEA business. If you have the passion to join some of these exciting projects, we would love to hear from you.

• Collaborate to solve technical challenges across the entire project lifecycle, from concept design to decommissioning.
• Produce process engineering deliverables, including process sizing calculations, heat and material balances, P&IDs, and similar documentation.
• Develop process models and perform process safety activities, such as HAZID/HAZOP studies and DSEAR assessments.
• Provide technical expertise across the AtkinsRéalis business and to clients, ensuring high‑quality engineering solutions.
• Support project delivery through embedded client resources, site‑based roles, or in‑house engineering support.

• Experienced in leading small teams of engineers and comfortable presenting to clients.
• BEng or MEng in Chemical or Process Engineering; IChemE chartership is preferred.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is ideal; an understanding of nuclear basics is required.
• Proficiency with chemical process simulation software for design, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of model‑based systems approach (MBSA) projects is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoys mentoring junior engineers and playing a key role within the department.

This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
