Your expertise will directly impact the shaping of modern luxury. Together, let’s create the exceptional.

Come and join JLR as a Manufacturing Process Engineer – Assembly!

This role sits within our Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) EDU Assembly team, supporting the development and introduction of advanced electric vehicle technology. You’ll be involved in shaping how electric drive units are assembled, working at the forefront of JLR’s electrification journey and contributing directly to the vehicles of the future.

Working closely with Product Development Engineers and leading global suppliers, you’ll help define, develop and validate modern assembly processes and facilities. From early concept through to launch, you’ll play a key role in ensuring products are designed for manufacture efficiently and delivered to world‑class quality standards.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, inclusive engineering team, with exposure to cutting‑edge manufacturing technology and the opportunity for periodic travel across Europe and overseas. The role offers genuine technical challenge, clear ownership and strong scope for personal and professional development as JLR continues to expand its electric vehicle portfolio.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You can expect a varied and rewarding role, where your day‑to‑day will involve tasks such as:

  • Develop, implement and document assembly processes, facilities, tooling, jigs and fixtures to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets
  • Lead detailed process planning, including build simulations, PFMEAs, feasibility reviews and ensuring designs suit modern assembly and test requirements
  • Plan, develop and manage installation and manufacturing timing plans, working closely with suppliers, supporting management reporting and governance
  • Support assembly process strategy and new model planning, producing process estimates and inputs against early study and programme requests
  • Verify and validate assembly processes and equipment at supplier sites and within JLR manufacturing facilities, ensuring capability and availability targets are achieved
  • Manage, support and resolve technical and manufacturing issues, escalating appropriately and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams
  • Contribute flexibly to programme delivery, including project support activities and ad‑hoc tasks as required by the line manager

  • Strong experience leading PFMEAs and Control Plans, with the ability to carry out structured risk analysis and implement robust process controls, preferably in Reliasoft
  • Demonstrated experience in facility installation, project delivery, capability validation, commissioning and product or model launches
  • A practical and methodical problem‑solver, able to resolve technical and manufacturing issues in a fast‑paced environment
  • Self‑motivated with strong engineering and communication skills, ideally gained within volume manufacturing settings
  • Proven ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams, with flexibility to support projects from early concept through to production launch
  • Ability to review engineering drawings and models using CAD tools, including Catia V6 and Team centre, with a Degree, HNC or HND in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
