An ambitious and expanding Fire Engineering Consultancy is seeking a talented Fire Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Fire Engineer looking to work on some of the UK's most complex and high-profile developments while benefiting from a clear route towards senior and leadership positions.
The successful Fire Engineer will join a highly respected consultancy delivering fire engineering solutions across residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial and mixed‑use projects. This Fire Engineer role offers exposure to both new‑build and existing buildings, providing technical challenges that will further develop your expertise.
As a Fire Engineer, you will work closely with developers, architects, contractors and building owners to deliver practical and innovative fire engineering solutions. The appointed Fire Engineer will become a key member of a collaborative team known for delivering commercially focused fire safety advice.
This position would suit a Fire Engineer seeking greater responsibility, project ownership and long‑term career progression within a supportive consultancy environment.
The Fire Engineer's RoleThe Fire Engineer will provide technical fire engineering advice throughout the design and construction process across a diverse project portfolio.
The Fire Engineer will:
- Prepare fire strategy reports for new and existing buildings
- Undertake fire engineering calculations and technical assessments
- Carry out means of escape and evacuation analysis
- Support Building Regulations compliance submissions
- Review architectural designs and propose fire safety solutions
- Attend design team meetings and client presentations
- Liaise with approval bodies and key stakeholders
- Support the delivery of complex and challenging projects
The successful Fire Engineer will ideally have:
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience within a Fire Engineering Consultancy
- Strong understanding of Approved Document B and UK fire legislation
- Experience producing fire strategies and technical reports
- Knowledge of smoke control, evacuation modelling or CFD analysis beneficial
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
- Ambition to progress within a growing consultancy
- £55,000 - £65,000
