Overview
Based in either our Exeter, Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, Epsom or London office (with flexible hybrid working), you will be part of an award-winning group of hydrogeology and contaminated land experts delivering innovative brownfield solutions to major UK infrastructure projects, across the transportation, energy, buildings and places and water markets. Responsibilities- Providing technical guidance, constructive support and mentoring to junior staff and supporting their technical development.
- Provide technical input and delivery of contaminated land projects / hydrogeological aspects of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Review and technical overview of complex numerical models for groundwater.
- Project management and technical delivery of a wide variety of projects including management of finances, and programme delivery.
- Organising / managing / checking site work.
- Liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, sub-contractors and other internal disciplines.
- Supporting senior management in developing new business and clients to win work and preparation of commercial offers.
- Preparation of H&S Plans for site investigations and managing health and safety.
- Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role, with support from the business on own training and development needs.
- Senior / Principal Hydrogeologist specialising in contaminated land and brownfield development and/or engineering hydrogeology; degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, environmental science).
- MSc or PhD in hydrogeology or related subject is preferable.
- Chartered Membership of relevant professional body (e.g. Geological Society, ICE or CIWEM). If not Chartered, candidate to become chartered within 6 to 12 months after joining with support.
- Substantial demonstrable experience as an environmental consultant within consultancy, industry, regulatory or academic fields with a track record in delivering work, client management and stakeholder liaison.
- Demonstrable understanding of UK hydrogeology and the environmental and regulatory framework of UK water management.
- Demonstrable experience of groundwater modelling packages such as P20, Con Sim, Land Sim, RAM, MODFLOW, FEFLOW, SEEP/W.
- Commercial awareness and ability to complete tenders.
- Be a digital innovator: experience of handling large data sets, developing graphic representations of data or finding new digital ways of working.
- Skills in GIS, computer programming, engineering geology/hydrogeology would be an advantage.
- Full UK driving licence.
