35 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:45pm, Friday 8:45am – 4:15pm.
Salary£42,228 – £48,633 annual salary.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our Traffic and Transportation team. The main duties include traffic and transportation engineering, road safety, strategy development, funding bids and sustainable transport. The successful candidate will contribute to transportation planning, policy making and strategy development, and will have supervisory responsibility. Experience in the development and delivery of traffic and transportation related projects, including procurement and financial monitoring, will be advantageous.
The role requires the ability to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, and to collaborate as part of a wider specialist team. The position requires travel throughout the Council area and involves a commitment to customer focus, service delivery and responsiveness.
- HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Experience of legislation and technical aspects in this area of work (e.g. TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and relevant Acts).
- Experience in the procurement and financial monitoring of traffic and transportation projects.
- Supervisory experience.
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status, or working towards this.
- Mandatory Overseas Criminal Records Check where applicable (applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of 12 months in the past 10 years).
