Overview
We are hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester
.
In this role, you will be designing bespoke components for the repair of water authority equipment, working closely with suppliers and the shopfloor to produce practical design solutions.
What’s on offer?- GBP
44,000 – GBP
48,000 per annum - Mon – Fri 7:30am 4pm
- Early finish on Fridays
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Standard pension
- Designing components for the repair of water authority equipment
- Measuring existing parts to create new replacement components
- Producing designs using Solid Works
- Using AutoCAD when required
- Creating designs for laser cutting and folding
- Working on bespoke design projects
- Requesting and reviewing quotes from suppliers
- Liaising with the shopfloor throughout the design and manufacturing process
- Previous experience designing mechanical components for repairs
- Solid Works experience
- Confidence working on bespoke design projects
- Ability to communicate with suppliers and shopfloor teams
- AutoCAD experience (not essential)
- HNC qualification (not essential)
