About the Role Our Technology Services team is seeking a senior technology consultant with expertise in Intelligent Transport Systems, Connected & Automated Vehicles, Smart Cities, Mobility solutions, and related technology‑led transport projects. The role involves delivering technical consultancy and design services across the full project lifecycle for clients in the transportation sector and beyond.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist technical consultancy and design services for developments, bids, and delivery of ITS, Smart Cities, Mobility solutions, C-ITS.
- Stay aware of new technologies and act as a technology scout, exploring emerging opportunities.
- Lead research, data analysis, and propose recommendations for clients.
- Capture client, stakeholder, system and user requirements; develop architecture, design documentation and technical reports.
- Review current and emerging technologies for deployment to solve real world problems.
- Undertake problem analysis, solution options, feasibility, and detailed design tasks.
- Ensure quality of technical deliverables aligns with client brief and company procedures.
- Innovative transport technology projects including CAV, Cooperative ITS, MaaS, Smart Motorways schemes.
- Development and delivery of next‑generation mobility solutions and autonomous vehicle trials.
- ITS strategies, action plans, and transformational programmes for transport authorities.
- Intelligent Transport Systems, control centres, telecom networks, speed enforcement and traffic management solutions.
- EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy projects, depot decarbonisation.
- BEng (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Maths or Physics.
- Experience in a similar role such as Smart Cities, ITS, CAV, MaaS, communications network design.
- Knowledge of ITS and associated technologies, transport technology market demands, trends and challenges.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, feasibility/options studies and direct client interaction.
