Role Overview
This is a full-time, permanent development role designed for a recent graduate. The Graduate Design Engineer will support the delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion, working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and site teams.
You'll gain exposure across design, planning, and site delivery, contributing to real projects while building your technical knowledge and professional capability within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design, planning, and delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering projects.
- Support senior engineers with technical drawings, calculations, and documentation.
- Attend site visits to gain practical understanding of project delivery and installation processes.
- Assist with project coordination, including tracking progress, materials, and timelines.
- Produce and maintain project documentation, reports, and records.
- Support compliance with Health & Safety standards, RAMS, and company procedures.
- Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Develop an understanding of low-carbon technologies such as ASHP, GSHP, and energy-efficient systems.
- Attend client meetings where appropriate to support project delivery.
- Take part in ongoing training and professional development.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar.
- Strong interest in building services, M&E, and sustainable energy solutions.
- Good understanding of engineering principles (academic or placement experience).
- Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (essential) & Revit (desirable).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
