Fire Engineer​/Fire surveyor

My client is a leading independent property and building consultancy with an established presence across the UK and Europe. With a multidisciplinary team of surveyors, engineers, project managers and technical specialists, the business supports developers, investors, funders, occupiers and public sector organisations throughout the entire property lifecycle.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Fire Surveyor or Fire Engineer to join their expanding Building Safety & Fire team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected consultancy and develop your expertise across a broad range of fire and building safety disciplines. You'll work closely with experienced professionals on technically challenging projects while gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.

• Deliver Technical Due Diligence and Lender Due Diligence surveys and reports.
• Undertake Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs) and complete EWS1 assessments.
• Develop Fire Safety Strategies for a wide range of building types.
• Support the delivery of Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports.
• Carry out fire door, compartmentation and fire stopping surveys.
• Complete construction stage fire risk assessments.
• Assist with Building Safety Act compliance and Gateway requirements.
• Manage projects from initial instruction through to completion.
• Provide technical advice to clients across commercial, residential, healthcare and mixed-use developments.
• Collaborate with Building Surveying, M&E, Project Management, Health & Safety and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and contribute to business development activities.

• Experience with in Fire Engineering, Fire Surveying or Building Safety.
• Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
• Experience producing technical reports and carrying out site inspections.
• Knowledge of FRAEWs, EWS1 assessments, Fire Safety Strategies or Technical Due Diligence would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits where required.
