Renowned for its collaborative approach and technical excellence, the consultancy delivers innovative building safety, fire engineering and property solutions across a diverse range of complex projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Fire Surveyor or Fire Engineer to join their expanding Building Safety & Fire team in Manchester.
The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected consultancy and develop your expertise across a broad range of fire and building safety disciplines. You'll work closely with experienced professionals on technically challenging projects while gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Technical Due Diligence and Lender Due Diligence surveys and reports.
- Undertake Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs) and complete EWS1 assessments.
- Develop Fire Safety Strategies for a wide range of building types.
- Support the delivery of Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports.
- Carry out fire door, compartmentation and fire stopping surveys.
- Complete construction stage fire risk assessments.
- Assist with Building Safety Act compliance and Gateway requirements.
- Manage projects from initial instruction through to completion.
- Provide technical advice to clients across commercial, residential, healthcare and mixed-use developments.
- Collaborate with Building Surveying, M&E, Project Management, Health & Safety and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Attend site visits, client meetings and contribute to business development activities.
- Experience with in Fire Engineering, Fire Surveying or Building Safety.
- Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience producing technical reports and carrying out site inspections.
- Knowledge of FRAEWs, EWS1 assessments, Fire Safety Strategies or Technical Due Diligence would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits where required.
